Consulting Concentration Overview

The Consulting Concentration at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School is designed to prepare students for a successful career in the Consulting industry with special focus on rapid career advancement during the critical first four years with a consulting firm. Our entire program is designed to develop students’ team problem solving capabilities and help them find the right fit within the consulting industry. Even if a student does not pursue a career in consulting, participation in this concentration will provide training in rapid analysis, problem solving, teamwork and presentations that will positively affect any career in business.

Consulting Concentration Requirements

To graduate with a Consulting concentration from Kenan-Flagler, students are required to take the following four courses:

Consulting Skills & Frameworks
Advanced Consulting Skills & Frameworks
STAR (see below for further information)
Managing the Professional Service Firm

STAR Program

The Student Teams Achieving Results (STAR) program matches teams of the brightest MBA and Undergraduate Business students with corporate partners to solve their complex challenges. Students advance their professional skills and readiness for today’s dynamic business environment. STAR is one of UNC Kenan-Flagler’s action-based learning programs that offers expertise in experiential business education and reflects the school's deep ties to the regional, U.S. and global business communities.
